Alternative Spring Break | Invisible Children
Alternative Spring Break 2007
ASB 2007 - New Orleans

The Department of Campus Ministry provides Carlow students with just one avenue by which they can render competent and compassionate service during their educational experience at Carlow. Many of the service and outreach opportunities sponsored by Campus Ministry support students’ service-learning efforts at Carlow, as well as provide opportunities for members of recognized student organizations to be of service on the Carlow campus and throughout the Oakland and surrounding areas.

Carlow students are encouraged to participate in weekly, monthly or one-time event service and outreach opportunities according to their areas of interest and availability. Volunteer service and outreach opportunities currently include after-school programming for primary and middle-school students, mentoring for high school students, reading support for children of mothers in recovery, support for homeless persons in the Pittsburgh area, participation in the global Invisible Children movement addressing the needs of war-effected children in Northern Uganda, and Alternative Spring Break.
