ASB 2007 - New Orleans |
Since 1992, Carlow University’s Alternative Spring Break (ASB) has provided Carlow students an opportunity to participate in a service-immersion experience with other Carlow students, faculty, staff and alums. The ASB experience begins in the fall semester of each year with an application and selection process. Once the ASB team is selected they begin working together toward their goals of team-building, fundraising and preparation for the immersion experience itself.
Over the years Carlow’s ASB groups have traveled throughout the United States and the Carribean Islands working with both local and well-known national and global organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Heifer International. Preparation, service and reflection are hallmarks of Carlow’s ASB, and for many who have participated, ASB is a life-changing experience.
Carlow students may take ASB for 3 service-learning, academic credits through the School for Social Change.
